Fighting and Preventing Crime
The Office of the District Attorney's needs a strong relationship with all its community partners. Protecting the citizens of Hampshire and Franklin Counties, and the Town of Athol, takes the collaboration of many different people on many different levels. Law enforcement and the Office of the District Attorney need to work closely on fighting crime and effectively prosecuting offenders while also working on innovative approaches to crime prevention.
Budget Crisis Threatens Public Safety
The current economic crisis has affected all of us. This deep recession is expected to get worse before it gets better. Rising unemployment, increased poverty, and decreased social services, pose challenges to meeting basic human needs and a growing danger of increased crime in our communities.
Family Protection
One of the top priorities of any Office of the District Attorney is to investigate and prosecute crimes against our most vulnerable citizens; children, elders, and victims of domestic violence. Many times these citizens have no one who can protect them or advocate for their welfare. It is incumbent upon the District Attorney to be their chief advocate. My focus and commitment on preventing and prosecuting crimes that impact our most vulnerable family members will not waiver.
